Who would have thought that Tim Lincecum would have the best
record amongst the pitching rotation of the San Francisco Giants? He is just so
cool. It was easy to see that on
Friday night, pitching against the Arizona Diamondbacks, he was having a blast
on the hill at ATT Park. He
created seven scoreless innings (101 pitches), and then left the rest to
relievers Juan Guiterrez and Jeremy Affeldt.
Lincecum gave up three hits, two walks and struck out
six. Not bad. He stood on that mountain, and I knew that
he knew that he was in charge.
“What Kryptonite?”, I wondered.
He just keeps getting better, and better, and better. Four wins in a row., 9-5 for the
season. The media likes to talk
about his fear of Diamondbacks. Maybe he has put that conversation to an
end. Mike Krukow was rendered
speechless while calling the game.
It was the first time Paul Goldschmidt has not hit in a game against
Lincecum. He did manage a walk.
Just a few more fabulous stats for Timmy:
·
27 consecutive scoreless innings at home
·
only one earned run in the last four games
Krukow found it
easy to declare, “He’s back.”
Oh Boy!

Let’s not forget that baseball is a team sport. Pablo
Sandoval had three hits including a homer and a double. Pence has been hitting steadily for
more than a dozen games. Morse seems to back to his hitting ways. It must have
been the switch to the Pence Pants. I keep saying that. Brandon Belt was 2 for 3 and had a walk,
as well. He seems to be settling
down.
